Nooristan FounDATIOn EVENT

Charity and humanitarian work is very important to me, both at the local/community and international level. For the past 10+ years, I have supported dozens of Northern VA local charities, schools and non-profits through my businesses, including cancer, alopecia, domestic violence shelters and other causes or events. On an international level, I try to help women in economically disadvantaged or war torn areas. One of the charities I support is the Nooristan Foundation, a 501(c)3 non for profit that has worked for over two decades in education and development. I was honored to be part of their 25 Year Anniversary in Southern California this past weekend, where I also visited my father who just rang the bell because he just finished radiation treatment for cancer! I have sponsored the ‘Encourage an Entrepreneur’ program for several years now, which has helped 80 women graduate from a tailoring program since 2020 where they also received basic numeracy and business training. The women are either widows or can not support their families. After the women graduate from the one-year program, Nooristan Foundation provides them with industrial sewing machines, supplies, and working capital to start their own business to provide sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families/children. I look forward to empowering more women through entrepreneurship and education! #nonprofit #charity #womenupliftingwomen
