It feels a bit strange to be sharing this when the world seems to be turning upside down, but I hope it inspires those watching and reading that if you put your mind - and the work - into your goals, you will achieve them, if God wills! For me, it has been 24 years as a fashion entrepreneur, and 13 years as a beauty entrepreneur. When I started, I was told by many I would not last. But I know I couldn’t last working for anyone else’s dream. Entrepreneurship has been my calling and path since I was a girl! I’ve paid my dues as a woman, Afghan-American, mom, and small business owner but I’ve made many of my visions come true and gained a tremendous amount of experience along the way! Of course, all praise is due to our Creator (Allah) alone for the great things I have been blessed with.

The post really highlights that power player idea and how influence in DC often comes from ambition, leadership, and personal drive in different careers. It made me think of a time in college when I joined a group project and had to step up to organize everything at the last minute. During that hectic week, I had used Take my management class for me while trying to balance multiple deadlines. It made me reflect on how pressure pushes people to rethink priorities and responsibility in learning and life.
