In a previous video, I suggested an idea to restaurants: create an this ACTIVITY SHEET about Afghanistan to help kids stay busy and learn some basic fun facts about the country (or for non-Afghan customers to learn). After the video was posted, I received many requests from restaurant owners and parents asking me to design something. After thinking about it some more, I thought, “Why not”? I have spent a lot of time over the years educating people about Afghanistan. This could be a way to make something to raise money for charity.” So, here is the first draft of the sheet I illustrated and mapped out. The next step will be to digitize it and when complete, it will be available to download on www.shoprumirose.com. Proceeds will be donated to www.nooristanfoundation.org. Nooristan Foundation helps street children in Afghanistan get educated, helps train Afghan women in tailoring so they can live sustainable lives, and supports families in immediate need of food.
